I can hardly believe that in t-minus two weeks our family will be en route to London! While it is not the first time that my husband, Ian and I have been to the United Kingdom, it will mark the first international flight for our daughters, Elissa (8 years) and Liliana (4.5 years). It also promises to be the family trip of a lifetime for all of us.
Over the next two weeks, I will be blogging about the adventures that go along with preparing for a month-long family trip overseas: the joys of packing, planning for a long-haul flight with children and bracing for jetlag. I hope that you’ll check in often and share your own tips and tricks for family travel preparation.
Once we’re safely across the pond, I will continue sharing our adventures as we explore all that London has to offer. My husband, Ian, will be reporting on the London 2012 Olympics for Sportsnet. While Daddy is busy interviewing world-class athletes on TV, we plan to find our own fun – kid style! The girls and I will revel in the upbeat, multicultural flavour of the Olympic festivities, and visit some of London’s best-known sites. But I also intend to dig a little deeper to discover the best spots for little travellers. Undoubtedly, there will be some bite-sized, kid-friendly history lessons along the way for my aspiring historians.
For now, I’m back to packing…the clock is ticking!
