Rev. Stewart Murray is the perfect case in point. The priest of St. Barnabas Church – where a charity fashion show will be held tomorrow afternoon and evening – has volunteered to trade his robes for designer shirts. The Reverend jokes that he never pictured himself as a male model, but that there’s a first for everything.
Yvonne Johnson, parishioner and head organizer of the fashion show, diplomatically informed the Reverend that he’d better stick with pants, as “his legs don’t look good enough for shorts.” The Reverend, who has a fantastic sense of humour, thought this was so funny that he announced it to his congregation in church the following Sunday. I love a church leader who knows how to have a bit of fun!
Aside from the Reverend, the fashion show will showcase professional models wearing the Spring 2013 collection created by Ottawa-area fashion designer Judy Joannou.
Some tickets are still available – please contact me by email at email@example.com. The cost is $30/ticket, with a $25 charitable tax receipt. Food will be served, and there are a ton of top Ottawa restaurants who have generously donated gift certificates as door prizes. All proceeds go to Cornerstone Housing for Women and Centre 454.
